cluelessfreak & chinese new year.

complilation of yee sang photos.

on the fourth day of chinese new year when everything had calmed down, my aunt decided to 'Lo hei'. what does that mean? i'm not really sure myself. according to my mom, 'Lo' means mix. 'hei' means, happy? *shrugss* if you know, kindly drop by my comment box or wherever i can see it. :)

the yee sang was purchased from a restaurant. cost rm38 bucks. no idea why it was so expensive. the salmon slice was not even a handful. i hate fresh salmon taste anyways. so my bro went to 'tapau' it. it came in order-where to put this n that. but i think the previous year when we bought the 'fun pack' was cheaper and tasted better.yummss...plum sauce.fresh flowers for the altar.

feeding the dead.

hell money.
although i'm a christian, i'm still a minority when it comes to big gatherings. so traditions had its way. to recall, there's only 3 christians in the midst. my mom, sarah, and me.

fake old school money :)

fake cherry blossoms.

lil clear glasses.

what i love about chinese new year:
1) BAK KUA ( dried pork slices?)-just had it for breakfast.
2) the traditional cookies and the modern ones.
3) chinese tea that comes in small clear glasses.
4) ang paos ( i didn't put this first..eik?)
5) seeing my cousins.
6) get the feel on the first CNY morning. my house used to accomodate 3 familys-totall of11 ppl miminum.

but now..they got their houses next to ours, so this year is kinda quiet and i decided to spend the morning in church.

what i don't like about chinese new year:
1) the fact that we have to wear new clothes. i didn't. i wore the old ones. hehe
2) meet 3rd degree cousins but have nothing to talk about.
3) people flood the living hall on the first day.morning some more. jam packed.
4) normally after CNY there's midterm.so called study week.
5) i don't get to go back to johore. coz my dad got a million excuses not too. but this year it seemed that i'm the reason. got exam. *sweat*

why people say ' happy new year' instead of 'happy chinese new year' ? i tried saying with the ' chinese' word but it's kinda mouthful. another thing.when u shake people's hands, make it a firm grip. it's so sick when i tried to shake people's hands and all i get its touch. maybe those old folks shook enough already. sudah tak kuasa. but youngsters, make it a habit to give a firm grip laaaa... sheesh~

i hope i will post the human pics later. sometimes not so enthusiatic already. ehehe..
